PASS creates adult industry-standard testing policy and operates a digital clearinghouse for work availability data.
In April of 2011, the Free Speech Coalition (FSC), the adult industry trade association, created PASS to build upon a previous program to help standardize and monitor adult industry testing. We partner with organizations that conduct STI and/or other infectious disease testing in the United States and Canada, who then report work clearance data back to our database. PASS began operating as its own organization in May 2021.
Key Details
The PASS database only stores binary yes/no ‘work clearance’ data - meaning no individual test results are uploaded to PASS. Clinical staff with the appropriate licensure at the testing partner makes a work clearance determination based on the results from the testing panel.
- The testing protocol requires 9 different tests for 7 STIs
- Clearance is given for 14 days from the date of the first sample collection
- Testing results are typically expected within 48 hours from sample collection
- In the event of a potential significant infection risk to the performer pool, PASS is closed and production is suspended until the risk is addressed.
